March feels like it was months away now, although it was only last month. Time seems to be flying past lately, although I tend to say that a lot. I swear children are some sort of time-stealers. As well as energy thieves. But anyway… March is always a busy month for us as we have both boys birthdays. I was also at a book signing, and we were winding down for half term. We also managed to squeeze in the beginning of our annual holiday!
So what did we enjoy during March?
This has to be the first on the list, as his birthday is the first of the month! We managed to get snowed in on his actual birthday, but we made the most of it as much as we could. When we managed to get out we went trampolining which we all enjoyed, although I managed to embarrass myself by slipping off one of the slanted trampolines; I won’t be doing that again!
A signing event
I’ve mentioned previously how I love attending multi author book signings; I usually go to two or three a year. My first one this year was in Leeds hosted by the wonderful Hourglass ladies. It was great to meet new and old bookish friends, and add to my signed collection!
March also brings Mother’s Day, which is between the boys birthdays. The Husband is usually at work on the day it falls so I still have to fend for myself! The boys decided they wanted to make me breakfast though and I ended up with this:
I was also given this lovely little herb planter set, and cards they made at school; the hand made gifts are always my favourite!
Three weeks after Noah, it was time for Jacob’s birthday celebrations. But can you believe it, our plans were scuppered by snow yet again! We had planned to go to Pizza Hut (second time lucky? Nope) but we ended up having a little party tea at home after school, and we went to soft play as his treat a few days later. This was actually the first year he didn’t have a party, as we were going on holiday a week or so later.
Our staycation for this year was at Haven in North Wales and we travelled there on Good Friday. What a hellish journey we had; we got stuck in crawling traffic on the M62 for over an hour due to a bad accident, and then once in Wales we came across general bank holiday traffic. I won’t be making that mistake again, ha! Once we arrived though, it was time for our holiday to begin. We didn’t actually leave the site for the first three days as there was so much to do; one of the great things about these holiday parks!
