It’s been cold, it’s been wet, it’s been winter. So we can understand why you would neglect your garden a little bit. For one, it’s hard to get things done when the ground is either frozen, or wet through. We’re unfortunate enough to experience more rainy sad days, than happy sunny ones. But, when the weather is good, you need to be making the most of your garden. It might feel like we’re a far cry away from the warmer weather, but at least spring is creeping up on us. And spring is the perfect time for flowers to blossom, and gardens to grow. So to help you stop neglecting one of the most important parts of your garden, here are our tips.

Out With The Old, In With The New!

As we’ve said, we’ve just got through the months where it is easy to neglect the garden. There’s more important things on our minds, such as staying the hell away from the outdoors. But this neglect, and rubbish weather, leads to most of your plants dying, the grass becoming a bit unhealthy, and the soil becoming a nightmare if you’re wanting to plant anything. So our first bit of advice is to uproot all your old plants, we’re here to show you a fresh new range for you to plant. Once everything that needs to be uprooted has, flip the soil. All you need to do is pick areas you want to plant in and flip those, you don’t need to go around doing every inch. Now, everyone always jumps to thinking of plants, but have you considered trees? You can get a range of different trees depending on what you want. If it’s a blossoming flower one, we recommend an eastern redbud. A relatively small tree that looks beautiful. If you’re looking for something a bit more quirky, why not consider orange trees. They look lovely, provide great shade, and provide great fruit! Both of these ideas are really low maintenance, and are easy enough to get your hands on. As for flowers, we think the brighter the better. Sedum’s are lovely little plants that don’t need to much attention, they’ll be seeds for this at your local gardening store! To just improve the general feel of your garden, get your grass back to that lush green colour with regular trims and grass seeds.

Party Ready

Since we’ve always got our fingers crossed for a nice summer, we might as well give you a few tips on how to keep your garden party ready. First things first. You need a decent bit of space to hang out. It might be that getting some decking installed will benefit you. A little area won’t cost too much! Then you just need to furnish it as you wish. Some people prefer the standard table and chairs with a nice BBQ ready for cooking some great food. If you want to go all out, get some garden furniture to make things extra comfy. For the finishing touch on the whole garden, we recommend little lamps to outline the edge of your grass. Most of them are solar powered and just look lovely of a night time.
