So what was inside the October Degustabox?
Feel Good Drinks Water Infusions (Orange & Mango, Strawberry & Mint)
As these were water infusions drinks, I was expecting a certain taste from them. The fruit flavours weren’t overly strong but I could pick them out in the water. I preferred the orange & mango one, this tasted more like fruit juice.
Pechkeks Misfortune Cookies
I love a fortune cookie but I’ve never come across a black one before! I love the idea of a misfortune cookie though, perfect for Halloween or those with a darker sense of humour. It tasted just like a usual fortune cookie, and the fortune made me chuckle too.
Vimto Millions Gift Jar
I’ve had Millions before but didn’t know they came in a Vimto flavour, or a gift jar size. The boys enjoyed most of these but I did try them. They were quite tangy and did have the Vimto taste. The gift jar would be perfect for a Christmas stocking filler.
Nuttvia Breadsticks Snackpack
I remember having the snacks similar to these when I was a child; well, my children didn’t get to try this as I stole it first! It was so good, really chocolaty, but there wasn’t as much chocolate as I needed for my breadsticks…
This salt contains 66% less sodium than regular salt, but I found it tastes just the same. I do like a good sprinkling of salt & vinegar on my chips!
Kabuto Noodles (Thai Green Chicken Curry)
I’ve received Kabuto Noodles in a previous box, but I think it was a different flavour. I’m not usually keen on Thai green flavour, but these were enjoyable. I did find them a bit slippery to eat, and it was more like a noodle soup with the amount of liquid.
As the packaging on this was a different language, I’m not totally sure which variety we received. I think it was basmati rice & lentils. I cooked up some spicy mince and veg, and mixed it all together. It was surprisingly tasty.
Michel et Augustin
This was basically a giant cookie with a melty chocolate centre. The Husband & I stole this too before the boys managed to get to it. (Bad parents!). It was super crunchy & creamy, and the centre was divine.
Heinz No Added Sugar Hoops
The boys are loving spaghetti hoops at the minute, so they did manage to get hold of this one. These were the no added sugar version but the taste difference wasn’t really noticeable, so great for the kids.
Pulsin’ Kids Fruity Oat Bars Orange Choc Chip
I did let the boys have this too, but I had a tiny little taste. It was quite crumbly and the orange flavour really shone through, not overpowered by the chocolate. They also count as 1 of a child’s 5 a day!
HIPPEAS Organic Chickpea Puffs
I’ve received a smaller package of these in a previous Degustabox and I remember being pleasantly surprised as I don’t really like chickpeas. But they don’t taste at all like chickpeas. They have the shape of a certain cheesy snack, but they’re a lot bigger! They’re a little herby, but the boys liked them.
Pip’s Real Hot Chocolate Co Real Hot Chocolate Coins (Orange)
In a previous box I’ve also had one of these too, but the classic flavour. I remember it being really chocolaty, and this was no different. Except it tasted like drinking a chocolate orange instead!
Lee Kum Kee (Sauce for Tomato Garlic Prawns, Sauce for Honey Garlic Spare Ribs)
I never got around to using these for prawns or spare ribs; I mixed them into some stir fry veg and chicken instead. They were quite spicy, but as I’ve mentioned before I love spicy food. They had a really tempting smell and I really enjoyed them. I preferred the honey garlic one of the two.
