Live Below The Line – are you up to the challenge?

Next week, for 5 days, I am going to be living below the line. That is, living on £1 or less per day, with regards to food & drink.

I must admit I had never heard of Live Below The Line until I received information about it in an email from BzzAgent, a panel which I am part of.

Live Below The Line is a campaign (it’s not new to this year, it has been going for a couple of years. You can find out how it started here) to challenge how people think about poverty, by actually getting them involved. One billion people go to bed hungry, and two million children die each year because of malnutrition. It shouldn’t be this way. We are so very lucky that we have enough food in the UK, and that we can (mostly) afford it. Unfortunately both of these factors don’t exist elsewhere, globally. Also, this poverty line of £1 in these developing countries covers all aspects of everyday living (not just food), from clothes to education to transport, and everything inbetween.

There are many charity partners to the campaign that you can choose to support; I have gone for Save The Children. Others include Oxfam, Unicef, The Hunger Project UK, and The Salvation Army.

I would be very grateful if you would take the time to dig deep and sponsor me, even 50p can make all the difference. I will be blogging about my experience throughout next week too!
