The weighting game

No, not a typo… I’m now back on the weight loss drive! 


Before I fell pregnant, I had reached one of my goals of a loss of 50 lbs (my target loss being around 72 lbs). I had pretty much fallen off the wagon though, and was just about to get back on it as it was getting me down, when we got our BFP. I climbed back aboard for a few weeks, when I couldn’t really stomach eating much anyway, and did a bit of walking, and then just lost all control and started eating anything & everything, and not really exercising either… Which is why I gained 29 lbs in total. Although according to my BMI when I fell pregnant, my total gain during pregnancy (taking into account weight of baby, placenta, amniotic fluid, boob growth, etc.) should have been on average between 15-25 lbs, so I don’t think I did too badly. I’m currently back in the obese bracket again, but soon enough I will be back there in overweight! (Though I don’t take too much notice of BMI as there are a number of factors that contribute).


So 4 weeks on since giving birth, I have lost 17 lbs of baby weight, and have 12 lbs left to go. This is really just from not eating as much, and a little bit of walking, as I’ve been too sore to do much else! Once I have lost this, I will be getting back on the wagon from where I left off, as I am determined to reach my target weight by the end of the year. I will have around 21 lbs to go, depending how I feel, the nearer I get. I will be exercising regularly again when my soreness & aching has just about gone (I’m getting there now), but will be taking it easy at first to ease me gently back into it, as I haven’t done any proper exercise for nearly a year now!
